Wine from Santorini as a gift
One of our suggestions for the upcoming festive season is a gift that can be offered to an adult friend or family member. Specifically, a few bottles of the famous and distinctive local Santorini wine could stand out as a salient and, at the same time, enjoyable gift. We believe that a careful selection of wine labels made from one or more of the exceptional Santorini grape varieties can make a great impression; especially to someone who appreciates good wine or who has recently visited Santorini and tasted our local wine. Even if you do not favour the idea of offering a couple of wine bottles as a gift to a friend, you may find useful to get yourself a few bottles of the special Santorini wine and use them to treat your guests and friends that will be visiting you during the holidays.
Important note about alcohol shipments to the US
Due to existing US laws and regulations, the shipping of wine, beer and other spirits to the United States is generally not allowed. The category of Santorini rare wines comprises local wine labels of older vintages that have a very good ageing potential. To the best of our knowledge, all wine labels listed in our E-shop category Rare Wines are currently unavailable in the market. Consequently, the few wine bottles of the aforementioned, rare, wine labels that you can find on Santorini E-shop are practically among the few last ones available in the local market.

Another wine suggestion we would like to make here is that of “Thalassitis Submerged”. This is a Rare and Collectible wine produced by the winery of “Gaia”. Each bottle of “Thalassitis Submerged” is aged with a very unusual technique: it is submerged in the sea around Santorini, at 20 meters depth, and is kept in this underwater cellar for four years. When the submerged wine bottle is pulled back up on the surface, the outcome is a wine that any wine-collector would appreciate.
“Thalassitis Submerged” is a gift bound to impress both by its physical image and content! Because of its aforementioned characteristics, we believe, this wine is a promising alternative option for any occasion of important corporate gifts.
